Nissan Ariya EV to Launch in India as CBU, Check Range and Features

Reported says the EV is expected to arrive as a CBU unit. It will be based on the CMF-EV platform and will be positioned a step above the newly launched X-Trail.

In a move to improve the product line in the Indian market, the leading car maker Nissan is now gearing up to take the completely electric route. The company is reportedly to launch its premium electric SUV Ariya in the market. It is the same model that made a global debut back in 2020.

It has been reported that the EV is expected to arrive in the country as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The vehicle will be based on the CMF-EV platform and will be positioned a step above the newly launched X-Trail. The report suggested that the brand might bring limited units initially, giving a choice to the customers in the EV segment.

Road Presence

In terms of design, the production is likely to flaunt the same style statement as the model, which was revealed in 2020. It is expected to get a decent-sized piano black panel upfront, featuring the slim LED headlight setup, paired with the V-shaped LED DRLs. The model will also get a coupe-like roofline, which will make it more aesthetic visually.

Cabin Highlights

Jumping inside, the cabin is expected to feature minimalistic elements with an impressive yet simple-looking dashboard, equipped with stylish AC vents and multiple charging sockets for both front passengers. The EV will also get a fully digital cluster and a robust touchscreen infotainment screen, supported by all car connect technology including wireless Android, Apple and Auto Car Play.

Top Features

The other notable features include autonomous driving technology, ProPILOT 2.0 driver assistance system, e-Pedal, in-built Alexa assistant, wireless charging port,  360-degree camera with dynamic guidelines emergency braking, forward collision warning, and the list goes on.

Powertrain Options

The Nissan Ariya will be offered in three trims with two batter setups. Interested customers will be given the choice of 63 kWh and 87 kWh. The former will generate a maximum power of 214 bhp/ 300 Nm with a claimed range of 402 km on a single charge. The latter will churn out a max output of 302 bhp/ 600 Nm, providing an overall 513 km range on a single charge.
