The Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) could see some major changes in the squads. Mumbai Indians (MI) had a disastrous campaign last year. The team removed Rohit Sharma as captain and handed over the leadership reins to Hardik Pandya. This did not sit well with Rohit Sharma fans who targeted Hardik Pandya during matches. There were reports of a rift between players and camp formations in the dressing room as well. Reports emerged that Rohit Sharma will part ways with MI before IPL 2025. As per a fresh report in Dainik Jagran, not just Rohit Sharma but Suryakumar Yadav, who is very close to Rohit, could also leave Mumbai Indians. The report states that KKR could go after the players in the mega auction scheduled next year.

The report further reveals that Delhi Capitals (DC) are not very happy with Rishabh Pant, adding that Chennai Super Kings can go after Pant in the auction. The report quoted a CSK source who confirmed that if MS Dhoni does not play IPL 2025, the franchise will go after India’s top wicketkeeper in the mega auction.
Also, LSG captain KL Rahul is not very pleased with the franchise. Rahul and LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka had a heated altercation in IPL 2024 during one of the games. It is reported that Rahul could also leave the franchise. The report states that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) could rope in KL Rahul and hand him the leadership reins of the team. Faf du Plessis has led the team in the last three seasons, however, the team failed to end their trophy drought. This is also a big hint towards a major shake-up in RCB where the team could put more focus on Indian players. RCB over the years roped in some of the biggest overseas players, however, the team was let down as they lacked credible Indian players. The team could change their strategy this year and hope for better results. The report hints that RCB might not be keen on retaining Faf du Plessis for IPL 2025.
