Xiaomi is entering the foldable battle in 2024 with the new Mix Fold 4 launch confirmed for July in China. The company has a previous in the segment but most of them have been limited to its domestic market. The Mix Fold 4 is likely to get a wider launch but there are still question marks about its availability in countries like India where the foldable lineup has intensified this year, with more to follow.

XIAOMI MIX FOLD 4 LAUNCH DETAILS IN CHINA
Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is launching on Friday, July 19 in China where the company’s founder, Lei Jun and his entourage will walk us through the new foldable device. Reports hint at Xiaomi bringing a Mix Flip model to the market as well, but we are not sure if that will happen on this date itself.
XIAOMI MIX 4 FOLD 4 LAUNCH: WHAT CAN WE EXPECT
Jun has shared some of the expected features of the Mix Fold 4 via his post on X this week. He talks about the foldable device weighing just 226 grams, similar to the Honor Magic V3 that was announced earlier this month. The Mix Fold 4 will be 9.47mm thin which he claims will make it feel like a regular smartphone.

The Xiaomi founder also highlights flagship-level performance which should be offered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The camera duties will be jointly handled by the Xiaomi-Leica camera system that has shown its worth with the Xiaomi 14 and the 14 Ultra already. Even though the Mix Fold 4 will feature a slim profile, the company should ensure it packs an adequate-sized battery with support for fast wired and wireless charging speeds.
SHOULD WE EXPECT AN INDIA LAUNCH FOR MIX FOLD 4?
It’s high time that Xiaomi brings its foldable range to the Indian market and we think it could finally happen this year. The brand brought its Ultra moniker of the 14 series to the country after the Mi 11 Ultra, which shows the ambitions and focus of Xiaomi to evolve into a premium brand in the country. Bringing the Mix 4 Fold to India will also give people the chance to be spoiled with some of the latest devices out in the market.
