One person was arrested after a viral video showed a Palestinian flag being waved during a Muharram procession in Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh.
Bhadohi Viral Video: A group of local youths waved a Palestinian flag and raised slogans in favour of the war-torn nation during a Muharram procession in a village of Bhadohi district in Uttar Pradesh. The incident, a video of which went viral on social media, took place on Sunday night, police said, adding that one accused has been arrested in the case.

In a video of the incident, the Indian tricolour and a Palestinian flag can be seen waved during a late-night procession by some people, amid loud sloganeering in favour of Palestine, which has been engaged in a brutal war with Israel since late last year following the October 7 assault by the Hamas militant group on the Jewish nation.

According to the police, a some local youths took out a procession on the National Highway in the Madhosingh area of Bhadohi after the sighting of the Muharram moon on Sunday night.
During the procession, which was allegedly taken out with permission from the local police, a Palestinian flag was waved and slogans were raised in favour of the West Asian nation, a senior official said Tuesday.

“Some youths took out a procession without permission on the National Highway on Sunday night during which they waved a Palestinian flag and shouted slogans,” said Sachchidanand Pandey, SHO in-charge of the Aurai police station.
Pandey said that the police took cognizance after a video of the incident went viral on Monday and during investigation, identified two accused involved in the act as Sahil alias Badshah and Gorakh.
Sahil was arrested on Monday night while searches are underway to nab Gorakh who is still absconding, the SHO said, adding that a case has been registered against the duo and other unidentified accused under BNS section 197 (2).
Police said that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the other accused involved in the incident, on the basis of the video, adding that further investigation is ongoing.
