Moto G85 5G launching in India on July 10, all we know about the phone so far

Motorola recently confirmed the launch date of its new smartphone in India. Called the Moto G85 5G, rumours about the phone had been doing rounds for quite some time and it is expected to come up with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset. Motorola has also confirmed that the phone will launch on July 10 in India. Read on to know all we know about the smartphone so far.

Moto G85 5G launching on July 10: Expected specs

The Moto G85 5G launched in Europe as a rebranded variant of the Motorola S50 Neo, which originally debuted in China alongside the Motorola Razr 50 series . If the Indian variant’s specs are same as the phone that launched in Europe, the Moto G85 is expected to sport a stunning 6.67-inch pOLED display, delivering vibrant visuals with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The screen, protected by Gorilla Glass 5, is expected to be durable.

In terms of aesthetics, the Moto G85 5G is a sleek device weighing 175 grams and measuring 7.59mm in thickness. The phone will come in three elegant vegan leather finishes: Cobalt Blue, Olive Green, and Urban Grey.

Expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, the Moto G85 5G promises strong performance. Users can choose between variants offering up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, catering to different needs.

The phone will sport a dual-camera system on the back and is expected to feature a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and a 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The front camera, designed for selfies, is expected to be a 32-megapixel shooter.

The Moto G85 5G comes with Android 14 pre-installed, along with a promise of two years of OS updates and three years of security patches. The user experience is enhanced with software features like Smart Connect, Family Space, and Moto Secure.

The phone will come with an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance. It is expected to house a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
