New Delhi: Zomato, a key player in the food-tech industry, unveiled an all-inclusive support system for its restaurant associates looking to widen their horizons. A nationwide ‘restaurant services hub’ was rolled out this Thursday via their online food ordering platform, according to a news update from PTI.
The platform, available via Zomato’s apps for eatery partners and customers, encompasses a mix of services from licensing, taxation, and trademarking, to official registrations with FSSAI and the restaurant itself. In addition, Zomato introduces recruitment solutions, even offering a comprehensive outsourcing option to bolster smooth restaurant management.

In the last six months, the restaurant services hub has already serviced over 3,200 restaurants and it will be extended to all restaurants across India, irrespective of their arrangement with Zomato, the company said in a statement.
The company is seeking to provide help in overcoming the complexities of running a restaurant, right from figuring out the ideal location and finding the ideal suppliers to getting requisite licences and hiring the right staff.
“The restaurant services hub platform is only a step towards our vision of creating a full-stack solution for any restaurant owner looking to set up shop or scale their existing business. By strengthening partnerships and facilitating collaboration within the industry, we are focused on building a more resilient and inclusive ecosystem in the country,” Zomato CEO, Food Delivery, Rakesh Ranjan said.

Zomato Plans To Launch Multiple Services
Zomato said it will soon launch multiple services such as POS (point of sale) device integrations and hygiene audits to help restaurant partners at every step of their journey right from planning, launching, operating, and scaling their businesses.
Last week, the company’s rival Swiggy had launched a new feature on its partner app to connect restaurants with staffing experts to help in hiring qualified candidates across various roles.
Food delivery company Zomato is in talks with Paytm to acquire the fintech company’s movies and events businesses, the company said in its filing on the Stock exchange.
Zomato Confirms Talks With Paytm
Zomato in a filing on the stock exchange on June 16 said, “We acknowledge that we are in discussions with Paytm for the aforementioned transaction, however, no binding decision has been taken at this stage that would warrant a Board approval and subsequent disclosure in accordance with applicable law.”
The food aggregator further said, “We have noticed that there are certain news articles circulating in the mainstream media with the subject “Zomato in talks to acquire Paytm’s movies, ticketing business”. This voluntary disclosure is being made to clarify our stance on the matter given that any transaction that is considered potentially meaningful may create uncertainty in the market.”
Paytm also confirmed the talks and said, “The Company routinely explores various strategic opportunities aimed at enhancing shareholder value. The potential transfer of Paytm’s Entertainment business, a component of our Marketing Services, is one opportunity under consideration.”
