What’s Expected On Hospital Bills

Hospital bills continue to be a worrisome factor for many. Earlier in May, the Supreme Court was disappointed with the government’s lackadaisical approach in defining a pricing structure for the various medical treatments offered by private hospitals and clinics. Consequently, to bring about standardization and transparency in health care costs, the Bureau of Indian Standards has begun devising plans and mechanisms.

“As we look ahead to the new fiscal year, we are not anticipating any significant increase in hospital admission costs, thanks to the proactive approach by the government for affordable and inclusive healthcare. To minimise out-of-pocket expenses and financial risks, we strongly recommend population in securing reliable health insurance. Health insurance provides a safety net, ensuring that individuals are not burdened by unexpected medical expenses,” Dr Gyani, Founder Director, Association of Healthcare Providers (AHPI) was quoted saying in a report by Financial Express.com.
