Renault plans to bring the recently revealed Dacia Duster to India in the coming year.

Before its debut in India, the new-generation Duster was spotted on international land in its three-row configuration, which could be dubbed Bigster when it launches.

The Dacia Bigster, a 7-seater SUV based on the Renault Duster, will be unveiled first, followed by the Renault-badged version. The SUV will also be available as a 5-seater with a larger trunk space in some markets. New spy images provide fresh details regarding its design, pointing to a familiar interior and a bigger footprint.

According to Motor.es, the inside design looks to have been substantially carried over from the Duster in the leaked photos. The test mules were most likely observed in Spain, as per reports. A big infotainment screen that is tilted towards the driver and a multifunction steering wheel with silver accents are part of this. Despite having the same DNA as the Duster, the Bigster may have extra amenities to support its high-end standing as a seven-seater.

The Renault Bigster is anticipated to be approximately 4.6 metres long, 300 mm longer than the latest Renault Duster. In comparison to its five-seater version, this results in a longer wheelbase and notably larger back doors. Families and travellers alike should benefit from these changes, which should expand cabin space and boost cargo capacity.

Renault is probably going to use the Duster’s powertrains, even if specifics about the engine are still unknown. The Duster is available in certain markets worldwide in a 1.0-liter LPG type, a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol with moderate hybrid assistance, and a 1.6-liter petrol hybrid. Meanwhile, all-wheel drive, like the Duster system, will be an optional feature. Also, front-wheel drive will be the basic setup.

The new Duster is expected to make a reappearance in the latter part of 2025, and its seven-seater version will arrive after. Nissan is also going to sell versions of these two SUVs; these are anticipated to go on sale following the new Duster’s Indian premiere. The Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus are the vehicles with which The Bigster will compete.
