Indian Railways Latest News: Here comes a piece of good news for the train passengers. They will soon enjoy a comfortable journey as the Indian Railways said the Nagpur-Pune Garib Rath will offer more luxury with LHB coaches. This train will also no longer have the painful side middle berths (SMBs).

It is interesting to note that the modern LHB coaches will enhance the train’s appearance and will also provide a more comfortable journey to passengers during their trip. The Central Railway said it has changed the composition of the Nagpur-Pune Garib Rath Express.

Garib Rath: Check Revised Composition

According to the revised composition, there will be 18 AC-III tier economy coaches, and two generator vans. The Indian Railways said one of the most notable changes in the train include the removal of the SMBs.

Speaking to TOI, senior divisional commercial manager (SrDCM) Aman Mital said that there will be no change in fares and the passengers will continue to pay what they paid earlier.

He further added that the transformation of Nagpur-Pune Garib Rath is part of the Indian Railways’ initiative to transform its fleet and improve passenger amenities for comfortable journey.

Berths, Coaches Increased in Garib Raths

The Indian Railways said it will gain from the new LHB Garib Rath rake as the number of berths and coaches have increased. Previously, the Garib Rath had 14 coaches but now four more coaches have been added. Apart from this, the number of berths in each coach has been increased from 72 to 80.

It should be noted that the journey of the Garib Rath with LHB coaches started on Tuesday which marks a significant milestone for the train service.

These Garib Raths were first introduced by Lalu Prasad Yadav in 2005 when he was the Union Railway Minister and the first Nagpur-Pune Garib Rath started its journey on January 19, 2009.
