Sahibabad: Here comes some good news for commuters in Delhi-NCR. The Namo Bharat rapid rail services will soon extend its operations from Sahibabad to Meerut South, a TOI report claimed. The Rapid Rail service between the two cities will start by the end of this month. The development comes after the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) approved the proposal for the third section of the corridor, which runs from Modinagar North to Meerut South.

Sahibabad-Meerut NAMO Bharat Train: Check Benefits
The Sahibabad-Meerut NAMO Bharat Train corridor on the 8-km section will increase the operational span of the rapid rail to 42km and will cover more than half of the planned 80km Delhi-Meerut corridor. The whole Namo Bharat metro corridor on the route is expected to be completed by 2025.
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) said the section will reduce the travel time from Sahibabad to Meerut South to nearly 30 minutes and the work on the 8km section has been completed.
Notably, this will be the first station in Meerut district on the rapid rail corridor which will integrate metro services. Currently, the Namo Bharat corridor has 13 stations in Meerut, with four designated for rapid rail and the remaining nine for the local metro system.
Apart from this, the NCRTC has established the state’s largest parking facility at the station, covering 13,000 square meters and accommodating 1,200 vehicles.
How Namo Bharat Train to Benefit Commuters
The rapid rail corridor on Sahibabad-Meerut route will significantly benefit students and daily commuters.
Talking to TOI, Sonal Singh – a student at MMH College in Ghaziabad said that the rapid rail starting operations to Meerut soon is good news for her as the Ghaziabad and Meerut are industrial and educational hubs but had limited commuting options before the rapid rail.

The Namo Bharat Metro services on the Sahibabad-Meerut route will enhance connectivity and reduce travel time between key industrial and educational hubs. And it will also mark a significant milestone in this ambitious infrastructure project, benefitting a broad spectrum of commuters.
