India’s popular Vande Bharat train is gearing up to revolutionize travel on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route. Initially designed for a top speed of 160 km/h, the train was limited to 130 km/h due to track constraints. However, starting August 15, the Vande Bharat train will operate at its intended speed of 160 km/h, as per a TOI report. The Railway Board has set a deadline of June 30 for the Mumbai and Vadodara divisions to ensure the necessary infrastructure is in place.
This initiative aims to streamline travel on busy routes, ultimately reducing the current 5 hours and 15 minutes journey time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad by up to 30 minutes. The project’s successful implementation will not only cut down travel time but also elevate the overall passenger experience.

- Train No. 22962 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express: Departs from Ahmedabad at 06:10 AM and arrives in Mumbai Central at 11:35 AM, stopping at Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Borivali.
- Train No. 22961 Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express: Departs from Mumbai Central at 03:55 PM and arrives in Ahmedabad at 09:25 PM, with stops at Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Borivali.
