How to change the photo on your Aadhaar card

Step 1: Go to https://uidai.gov.in/en/ to access the official UIDAI website.

Step 2: Download and print the Aadhaar enrollment form from the homepage.

Step 3: Fill out the form completely by entering all the necessary information.

Step 4: Go to the Aadhaar Sewa Kendra or Enrollment Center that is closest to you and turn in the completed application to the appropriate staff members.

Step 5: Enter your fingerprint data.

Step 6: Your picture will be taken in real time by the officials.

An acknowledgment slip with an Update Request Number (URN) will be provided to you.

Updated Aadhaar card picture: Crucial things to keep in mind

  1. Your Aadhaar card’s photo can be updated without the need for any accompanying documentation.
  2. You don’t need to bring your photo because the executive will take it there.
  3. It could take up to ninety days for the Aadhaar data to be updated.
  4. You can use the URN listed on the acknowledgment paper to track the status of your Aadhaar update online.
  5. Changing an Aadhaar card’s photo online is not supported by the Self-Service Update Portal (SSUP).

Download Aadhaar card after photo update

Following the photo update, take the following actions to download your Aadhaar card:

  1. Go to the UIDAI’s official website: UIDAI
  2. On the “My Aadhaar” tab, select “Download Aadhaar.”
  3. Give the captcha code and your Aadhaar number.
  4. Select “Send OTP” from the menu.
  5. You will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number.
  6. Log in after entering the OTP.
  7. To download your updated Aadhaar Card, click the “Download Aadhaar” option.
  8. Lastly, print the Aadhaar card that you downloaded.
