Maidaan OTT Release: The biographical sports drama Maidaan, which is based on the life of renowned Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, debuted in theatres in April of this year. With Ajay Devgn as the lead role, the film made a lifetime collection of Rs 52.29 crores at the box office, despite having a poor start. Today, June 5, marks Maidaan‘s official OTT release following several months of theatrical distribution. Priyamani and Gajraj Rao play important parts in the sports drama as well. The movie is available to stream only on Amazon Prime in 240 countries and territories worldwide. The digital debut of Ajay Devgn’s highly anticipated movie, Maidaan, was announced by the official X (formerly known as Twitter) account of Amazon Prime Video on Wednesday.

Maidaan was directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Amit Sharma. Co-producing the sports drama alongside Arunava Joy Sengupta and Akash Chawla is filmmaker Boney Kapoor. Under the leadership of renowned football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, Maidaan showcases the heyday of Indian football, which ran from 1952 to 1962. The film, which is set in post-independence India, follows Rahim as he struggles to establish a football squad and take it to the world circuit.
Ajay Devgn previously appeared in Shaitaan, a supernatural horror movie, where he bonded well with R Madhavan. This year’s March saw the release of Shaitaan. Ajay is now preparing for the release of De De Pyaar De 2, Raid 2, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, and Singham Again. Thank God, Bholaa, Runway 34, and Drishyam 2 are some of his other recent creations.
