Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang had intended to attack actor Salman Khan while he was at his farmhouse in Maharashtra’s Panvel, police sources said on Saturday.
Automatic weapons brought from Pakistan were to be used for the attack. Four people have been arrested by Navi Mumbai police Automatic weapons like AK-47, M-16 and AK-92 were to be ordered from Pakistan. Lawrence, his brother Anmol Bishnoi and Goldie Brar had hatched the conspiracy.
Last month, Mumbai Police sources told CNN-News18 that one of the two arms suppliers in the firing case outside Salman’s residence, Anuj Thapan, died by suicide in a lock-up. An accidental death report has been registered at Azad Maidan police station in south Mumbai.
The 23-year-old accused hanged himself inside the toilet of the lock-up using a bedsheet. He was rushed to the state-run GT Hospital, where he was declared dead during treatment. Thapan was arrested from Punjab along with Sonu Kumar Bishnoi for allegedly supplying weapons to shooters Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, who were already arrested, according to police.
According to sources, the police will also investigate why Thapan took such a drastic step. Meanwhile, two others, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, who allegedly fired the gunshots outside Salman’s residence are also in police custody. They were arrested after they were caught on CCTV leaving the area on a motorcycle on the night the incident happened.

The accused in the firing case were known to be connected with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Soon after the incident, Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the attack in a Facebook post.
