Who wouldn’t know about the Splendor? It has been the primary breadwinner for Hero even before it swayed paths with Honda and became an independent two-wheeler manufacturer. To simply it is the most common workhorse commuter of an Indian middle-class individual. On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, Hero has launched a new version of Splendor.
Called the Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0, it is an upgrade over the outgoing Xtec variant of Splendor and priced at Rs 82,911 (ex-showroom). This makes it Rs 3,000 more expensive than the outgoing model.

Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0: What’s new?
To make it clear, Hero hasn’t tinkered with the design at all so that it doesn’t mess with its identity. However, the modern amenities onboard the Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 are its biggest highlights. For starters, it gets an LED headlight with an integrated LED position lamp. At the rear, it gets an H-shaped signature LED taillamp. Hero is now offering the Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 in three newe colour schemes— Matte Grey, Gloss Black and Gloss Red.
Other styling highlights such as side hooks, a tubular grab rail which doubles down as a small tail rack, and a chrome-finished engine crash guard remains unchanged. Further, the new Splendor Plus Xtec claims a longer seat that offers increased comfort, while a larger glove box with a hinge-type design provides added convenience

In terms of features, the biggest highlight is a fully-digital instrument console that comes with an eco-indicator, Real Time Mileage indicator, service reminder, and a side stand indicator. Further, Hero is also offering a USB charging port, and Bluetooth connectivity that provides calls, text and battery alerts. Safety net is provided by a dedicated hazard switch, side-stand engine cutoff, and bank angle sensor.

Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0: Powertrain specs
Powering Splendor Xtec Plus Xtec 2.0 is the same 100cc single-cylinder engine that makes 7.09 bhp and 8.05 Nm of peak torque. This motor is mated to a four-speed gearbox. Hero claims this motor returns a mileage of 73 kmpl which is the best in its class and boosted by the i3s (Idle Stop Start System). Hero is offering a service interval period of 6,000 km bringing down the running cost significantly.
