The admissions to School of Open Learning (SOL) will start on June 3 while the same for Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) began on Tuesday. SOL director Payal Mago said the CUET score won’t be required for the admission to its UG programmes, but it would be essential for PG courses barring MBA and library sciences.

NCWEB has around 15,000 seats for bachelors in 39 programmes where only girls from Delhi can apply. Depending on the course, admissions will be based on either the CUET score or the Class XII marks. Among the courses, NCWEB offers two undergraduate programmes, BA and BCom, at 26 constituent colleges of DU.

Gupta said the registration process for the postgraduate, BTech and the five-year law integrated programmes had started on April 25. The first allocation list may be released by June 20. He said that till May 27, 80,346 registrations had been done for PG, 9,052 for BTech and 7,362 for law programmes.

DU has also identified 26 games/sports under its sports supernumerary quota and 14 categories, including NSS and NCC, under the extracurricular activities (ECA) supernumerary quota. It has been decided that 5% of the total sanctioned strength of a college will be allocated for ECA and sports quotas.

Dean (admissions) Haneet Gandhi said the university had set up an admission support system. Last year, almost 1,000 UG seats stayed vacant even after four rounds of the UG seat allocation. To achieve optimal seat allocation and fill up the seats becoming vacant due to dropouts/withdrawal, 20% extra allotment will be done in the unreserved, OBC-non-creamy layer, and EWS categories and 30% extra allotment in the scheduled caste and tribe and disability categories for all programmes in all colleges. However, the colleges where the withdrawals were less than 5% of the sanctioned strength last year, the extra allotments will be 10% and 15%, respectively.
