UPI Transaction Limit: Know Maximum Amount Of Transaction You Can Do In A Day

Most of us use UPI to buy daily needs essentials, that is why a majority of us do not have idea of daily transaction limit. Below we have discussed that what is the maximum amount of transaction you can do in a day using UPI?

UPI transaction limit

The current limit for regular UPI transactions is Rs 1 lakh per day. However, the maximum transaction limit for categories like capital market, collections, insurance and foreign inward is Rs 2 lakh. This limit for IPO and Retail Direct Scheme is Rs 5 lakh per transaction.

In addition, according to the Paytm website, RBI has increased the transaction limit for UPI payment for hospitals and educational institutions from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh per transaction, effective from December 8, 2023. The purpose of this change is to make large transactions in these sectors easier.

Different banks have set different transaction limits. For example, for Abhyudaya Sahakari Bank, the UPI transaction limit is Rs 25,000, with the same amount as the daily limit. Meanwhile, the sponsor bank of Adarsh Co-op Bank Limited is HDFC Bank with UPI transactions and a daily limit of Rs 50,000.

While the maximum limit for P2P transactions through UPI is Rs 1 lakh, your bank may impose restrictions on it. For example, HDFC Bank allows P2P UPI transactions up to a maximum of Rs 1 lakh or 20 transactions per bank account within 24 hours.

NPCI’s mandatory upper limit is Rs 1 lakh per transaction and transaction limit is Rs 1 lakh. Additionally, a maximum of 10 transactions can be made initially within 24 hours of the first transaction.
