Bank Holiday in June 2024: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the bank holiday schedule for June 2024. All banks and their branches will be closed for up to 10 days, including five Sundays and two Saturdays – the second and fourth – in the upcoming month.
The bank holidays are categorized as per the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts. The banks will remain closed for three days in different states/cities for the following holidays – YMA Day/Raja Sankranti and Bakri ID (Id-Uz-Zuha).

June 15, 2024 – YMA Day/Raja Sankranti
Banks will remain closed in Mizoram and Odisha June 15 for YMA Day and Raja Sankranti, respectively.
June 17, 2024 – Bakri ID (Id-Uz-Zuha)
Banks will remain closed in the following cities/states – Tripura, Gujarat, Belapur (Mumbai), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Chandigarh, Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Guwahati (Assam), Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad – Telangana, Imphal (Manipur), Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Jammu, Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Kochi (Kerala), Kohima (Nagaland), Kolkata (West Bengal), Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji (Goa), Patna (Bihar), Raipur (Chhattisgarh) , Ranchi (Jharkhand), Shillong (Meghalaya), Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) and Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) on June 17, 2024 on the occasion of Bakri ID (Id-Uz-Zuha).

June 18, 2024 – Bakri ID (Id-Uz-Zuha)
Banks will remain closed in Srinagar and Jammu on June 18, 2024 – Bakri ID for Id-Uz-Zuha.
Holidays on Saturdays and Sundays in June
Generally, banks operate only on the first, third, and fifth Saturdays of a month. The second and fourth Saturdays, along with Sundays, are designated bank holidays. Banks in June will alsp remain closed for five days as there will be a Sunday on 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 and two Saturdays on 8 – the first one and 23- the fourth one.
