Protest at DDU Marg
AAP CM Arvind Kejriwal has called for a protest, including senior party leaders, at noon at the BJP headquarters in Delhi today. Kejriwal accuses the party of targeting and arresting AAP leaders one after another.
In a video message yesterday, he said he would be leading a march towards the BJP headquarters along with all his senior leaders. He also said that the saffron party can arrest all the AAP leaders at once if they wanted.
“One after the other, they have been putting our leaders in jail… I want to tell the Prime Minister: You are playing this game of arresting people one at a time. Tomorrow, I will go to the BJP headquarters at noon with all my senior leaders, MLAs, and MPs. Jail whoever you want, do it all at once,” he said in the message.
The AAP has repeatedly accused the BJP-led central government of targeting its leaders, including arrests of Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Satyendar Jain, with Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay’s recent release after over six months in jail in a liquor policy case.
Maliwal, also a Rajya Sabha MP, accused Kumar of assaulting her at the Chief Minister’s residence, triggering a political controversy amid elections. Kumar was arrested from the Chief Minister’s house and remanded to five-day police custody.
CM Kejriwal asserted that Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, along with Delhi Ministers Saurabh Bhardwaj and Atishi, are among those targeted by the BJP. This statement came after his personal secretary, Bibhav Kumar, was arrested in connection with the Swati Maliwal assault case.
