In a post on X, which garnered significant traction, Kamath emphasised the dedication and strategic thinking required to excel in esports.

“This isn’t just a hobby anymore but a serious career option that deserves validation from parents and institutions alike. What worked in the last 20 years will likely not work in the next 20. Interactive forms of entertainment are increasingly taking market share, let’s all give the gaming industry the importance it deserves,” he said in a post on X.

According to a report by Newzoo, the global esports audience is projected to reach a staggering 532 million people in 2023, with revenues exceeding $1 billion. This remarkable growth can be attributed to several factors:
