Due to the ongoing thunderstorm activity, the heat wave conditions have abated and are unlikely to develop over the next three days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest weather forecast stated that a wet spell accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is forecasted over northwest India until May 12, East India until May 13, and Central and south Peninsular India until May 15. Additionally, due to the ongoing thunderstorm activity, the heat wave conditions have abated and are unlikely to develop over the next three days.
The weather department also informed that hailstorm activity is very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand today, while dust storm and thunderstorm with gusty winds are very likely to prevail over Uttar Pradesh over Rajasthan. Moreover, strong surface winds are very likely in parts of Uttar Pradesh and south Rajasthan during the next 3 days. On the other hand, hot and humid weather is expected to persist in isolated areas along the coastal parts of Saurashtra and Kutch over the next five days.

Pleasant weather in Delhi
The weather office has predicted a generally cloudy sky on Sunday, with light rain and thunderstorms expected, accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kmph. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to be around 25 degrees Celsius.
IMD issues ‘yellow’ alert for Goa
IMD has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for Goa for May 12-13, forecasting thunderstorms and lightning in the coastal state. According to the IMD, “Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and winds gusting to 30-40 kilometres per hour are very likely at isolated places on May 12-13.” On Saturday, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in the state were 34 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Rain, thunderstorm in parts of Rajasthan
Rain and thunderstorms were observed in various areas of Rajasthan over the last 24 hours due to the influence of a western disturbance, according to the local weather office on Saturday. Thunderstorm activities are expected to continue until May 14, causing a decrease in maximum temperatures in most parts of the state.
Several other districts including Bikaner, Dausa, Alwar, Tonk, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, and Sikar also experienced rainfall, as per the weather department, which predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in some parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, Kota, and Jodhpur divisions on Saturday.
