New Delhi: The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are underway and out of the seven phases, three have been completed, the fourth one will be conducted on May 13, 2024. Ahead of the fourth phase, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in West Bengal and will be addressing four rallies in the state, in Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas district, in Hooghly, in Arambagh and in Howrah. Among the 96 constituencies where voting will take place in the fourth phase of the polls, polling will be conducted in eight seats of West Bengal, namely, Baharampur, Krishnanagar, Ranaghat, Bardhaman Purba, Burdwan-Durgapur, Asansol, Bolpur and Birbhum. Kolkata Traffic Advisory For PM Modi Visit

As mentioned earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting West Bengal for four rallies ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 4 on May 13. Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit in the state, Kolkata Police has issued a traffic advisory which has remained in place since the evening of May 11 and will continue till afternoon of May 12, 2024.

Kolkata Traffic Advisory: Traffic Restrictions

  • Movement of heavy vehicles, i.e. all types of goods vehicles is restricted in the Kolkata city within Kolkata Police jurisdiction from 8:45 AM to 1:00 PM on May 12; the restrictions may remain in place till the VIP journey in the state continues.
  • Movement and parking of heavy vehicles is strictly prohibited and shall be regulated as per the travel programme of the Prime Minister and other dignitaries.
  • Heavy goods vehicles will be restricted to ply in and around the Raj Bhawan from 6:00 AM on May 11 to 10:00 PM on May 12, 2024.

Kolkata Traffic Advisory: Routes To Avoid

The routes that must be avoided, according to a report by Times Now, Raj Bhawan (South) Gate- RR Avenue – Red Road – Jenson and Nicholson Island – Khidderpore Road-11 Furlong Gate – 2nd Hooghly Bridge. There is a strong possibility of regulation or diversion of traffic to feeder roads by the Traffic Police, as and when required.

PM Modi West Bengal Visit For Lok Sabha Elections 2024

In his second visit to West Bengal this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold four rallies in the state today to boost the campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). PM Modi will hold a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Arjun Singh in Barrackpore in the North 24 Parganas district at 11:30 am. After that, the Prime Minister will address people in Hooghly in support of BJP candidate Locket Chatterjee at 1 pm. In Arambagh, PM Modi will campaign for BJP candidate Arup Kumar at 2:30 pm. The Prime Minister will hold a meeting in Howrah at 4 pm also.
