On Friday, May 10, smartphone brand Tecno officially announced the launch of its new camera-centric smartphone called Camon 30 Series in India. Set to launch on May 18, according to the company, the Camon 30 series is set to raise the benchmark in smartphone photography experience.
The phone’s camera is confirmed to be powered by the Sony IMX 890, and the company claims that the Camon 30 series is expected to present evolved camera technology that will transform users’ experiences.
The phone made its global debut back in February 2024 at the MWC 2024 in Barcelona and also clinched the Platinum award at the MUSE Creative and Design Awards.
Tecno, in their global release, revealed four models, which include the Tecno Camon 30, Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Pro 5G, and Camon 30 Premier 5G. However, the company hasn’t mentioned which models they will be launching in India.
In their teaser video, it can be observed that the design of the Indian variant of the handsets is quite similar to its global models, and according to reports, it is expected that the Indian variants will share similar specifications with their global counterparts.
The global models of the Tecno Camon 30 4G and 5G versions are powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset and a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC, respectively. While the Camon 30 Pro 5G and the high-end Camon 30 Premier 5G model have a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. All the variants feature 5,000 mAh batteries that support up to 70W wired fast charging.

Both 4G and 5G variants of the Tecno Camon 30 house a 50 MP primary camera along with a 2 MP depth sensor with dual rear flash units. On the other hand, the Tecno Camon Pro 5G features a 1/1.56 inch 50 MP primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 50 MP sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor.
The high-end Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G comes with a 50 MP primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), another 50 MP sensor with up to 3x optical zoom, and a third 50 MP camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens along with a quad flash unit. Every model houses a 50 MP front camera.
