Mumbai Traffic Update For Maharashtra Lok Sabha Election 2024

As mentioned earlier, the fourth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is taking place on Monday, May 13, 2024 and constituencies of Maharashtra will also go for polling in the phase. Ahead of the Maharashtra Lok Sabha Election 2024, traffic restrictions and diversions have been announced so that the vehicles carrying the polling material for the elections, can move without any hindrance.

Traffic Restrictions Announced, Check Route Diversions

According to the official notification by the Navi Mumbai Traffic Police regarding the latest traffic update, the traffic restrictions will remain in place from 6:00 AM on May 12 to May 14 midnight and are specifically for areas of Navi Mumbai – especially Panvel and Uran. Take a look at the traffic diversions and updates..

  1. The road connecting Panvel Thana Naka to JNPT Road via the Karnala Sports Academy, leading to AR Kaleskar Polytechnic College Centre situated in Panvel, will remain closed for all vehicular movement.
  2. If you are travelling towards JNPT Road, you are expected to use the Khanda Colony Overbridge and then take a left, towards JNPT from Kalmaboli Circle.
  3. Those moving from the Khanda Colony Signal, must turn left via the JNPT Road, towards their choice of destination.
  4. Heavy vehicles’ movement will remain restricted on the Dighoda to Dastan Phata Road, for Zila Parishad School, Jasai from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM on May 12 and from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM on May 13.
  5. During this same time duration, all vehicles traveling to Dastan Phata from Dighoda will be rerouted to reach their destination, via Dighoda Jambhulpada – Jungle Cut.
  6. Please note that there are no restrictions for essential vehicles and emergency services including police, ambulances and fire brigades.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Schedule

The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is being conducted in a total of seven phases, out of which, three phases have been completed. The first phase took place on April 19, second on April 26 and the third phase was conducted on May 7. Phase 4 will take place on May 13 with voting in 96 constituencies across 10 states; 20th May is the date for phase 5 when voting will take place in eight states at 49 constituencies; the sixth phase will take place on May 25 with polling in 57 constituencies of seven states and the last phase will be on June 1 with voting in 57 constituencies across eight states. The counting of votes, i.e. result declaration will happen on June 4, 2024.
