Life Certificate: How Elderly Pensioners Can Submit ‘Life Certificate’ Online; Check Full Process

Methods for submitting life certificates online:  Pension is the main source of income for millions of retired senior citizens. This money makes them financially capable at this stage of life and helps them meet their needs and emergencies. However, to get the pension regularly, pensioners have to submit their life certificate to the bank, post office, or other authorized pension disbursing agency.

However, some pensioners are too old or physically weak and cannot go to the pension disbursing agency to submit a life certificate. Authorities have introduced online methods to issue life certificates to help such pensioners. Such Pensioners can submit life certificates online in two ways. The first is an Aadhaar-based digital life certificate and the second is face authentication.

How to submit a life certificate through Aadhaar?

– Download the Digital Life Certificate application from jeevanpramaan.gov.in on any smartphone or Windows PC.

– Next, submit the pensioner’s Aadhaar number and other details related to the pension bank account.

– Biometric authentication can be done at the nearest common service center, bank branch, or government office. You can also purchase a fingerprint scanner or Iris scanner from the market.

– If the pensioner is already enrolled in the system, he or she will only have to provide his Aadhaar number to authenticate his or her biometrics to update his Digital Life Certificate.

– After the successful submission of the Digital Life Certificate, an SMS with the unique ID code will be received on your mobile. It can be used to download your life certificate from the www.jeevanpramaan.gov.in website.

How to submit a ‘life certificate’ through face verification

– First, you have to download the ‘Jeevan Pramaan’ app on your smartphone.

– Next, you have to fill in your details in the Jeevan Pramaan app including your Aadhaar (UID) number, mobile number, email ID, and more, and click on the ‘Submit’ button.

– Now, you will receive a one-time password (OTP) on your mobile number and email ID.

Submit OTP to verify your identity.

– Next, enter your name and select the scan option when prompted.

– The app will then request permission for a face scan, which you can grant to complete the process.

– Click ‘Yes’ to continue the process.

– Now, click on the ‘I am aware’ button to proceed with the scanning. After this, the app will scan and record the photo.

– Post completion of the process, the screen will show the proof of submission along with ID and PPO number.
