WhatsApp is currently testing a series of new features to enhance the user experience on the platform. One of the features in the pipeline is a new audio call bar designed to improve navigation for calls. The feature, spotted by Wabetainfo, aims to provide users with greater control and convenience when managing outgoing audio calls within the app.

According to the report, the new feature is currently available for select users who are part of the Google Play Beta Program for WhatsApp. However, India Today Tech also spotted the feature in the updated version of the WhatsApp app for iOS. This new call bar allows users to multitask more effectively within the app. Once a call is connected and the user minimises the call, the revamped call bar appears at the top of the interface, offering easy access to control the outgoing call.
Unlike the previous version, where users had to tap the green status bar to return to the call, the new call bar streamlines this process. Users can now mute or end the call directly from the call bar, saving time and effort by avoiding the need to navigate back to the call screen.

As for availability, according to Wabetainfo, the audio call bar is gradually rolling out to more beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store. However, many users may receive it earlier on both Android and iOS.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also introducing a new feature for its in-app camera. As reported by WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned platform is now offering a zoom control option to select iOS beta testers. The update aims to enhance the camera experience by making it more convenient and user-friendly, allowing users to capture and share their favourite moments with ease.
The zoom feature is available in app version 24.9.10.75. This new functionality enables beta testers to adjust the zoom level smoothly without having to hold down the camera button and swipe up or down, as required in previous versions. This improvement provides more precise control during recording, allowing users to fine-tune the zoom effortlessly without interrupting their session. As a result, users can better manage their photo and video content.
Additionally, WhatsApp is also planning to introduce new shortcuts for sticker creation. According to online reports, the app is updating its sticker creation icon to match its modern design and is separating the sticker creation tool from its AI-based sticker creation feature.
