Hyderabad: Following the defeat versus Sunrisers Hyderabad by 10 wickets, there have been talks around will KL Rahul continue as the captain of Lucknow Super Giants for the remaining two IPL matches. But as we understand now, the LSG team spokesperson has confirmed that Rahul will continue to lead the side. While speaking to New24, the LSG spokesperson gave the confirmation.

Following the defeat, Rahul seemed to be at a ‘loss for words’ and he claimed it as well, labelling the SRH batting as ‘unreal’.
“Am lost for words. We have watched that kind of batting on tv. But this is unreal batting. Everything seemed to find the middle of the bat. Kudos to their skills. They have worked hard on their six hitting skills. They didn’t give us a chance to know what the pitch played in the second innings. Was hard to stop them as they teed off from ball one,” Rahul said at the post-match presentation following the 10-wicket defeat.

Earlier, Travis Head hammered 30 balls 89 and Abhishek Sharma slammed 75 off 38 as Sunrisers Hyderabad thrashed Lucknow Super Giants by ten wickets and chased down the target of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs.
The Super Giants are still alive in the playoff race, but yes, the equation is extremely stiff.

News agency PTI reported that Rahul, who was roped in before the auction in 2022 for a record ₹17 crore, is unlikely to be retained before the mega auctions in 2025. However, there is speculation that the skipper might step down on his own and concentrate on batting during the next two games.
