Sangeeth Sivan Funeral At 5 PM Tomorrow, Antim Darshan At Residence 4 PM

Renowned filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan, who worked in both Malayalam and Hindi film industries, passed away at the age of 61 on May 8, while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mumbai. Zoom has now learnt that the director’s mortal remains will be kept at his residence at Meridian Apartment for the last darshan at 4 pm on May 9.

Many actors and people associated with the film industry are expected to arrive at his home tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon to pay their last respects to Sangeeth Sivan.

After learning the news of his demise, actor Sunny Deol, who worked with Sangeeth Sivan in Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, took to X (formerly Twitter) and paid his condolences. He wrote, “Shocked to hear about the passing away of my dear friend @sangeethsivan, can’t believe that you are no longer amongst us, but you will always be with us in our hearts and memories. Om Shanti my friend, may your family get the strength to overcome your loss.”

Tusshar Kapoor also paid tribute to Sangeeth Sivan. He expressed gratitude to the director for introducing him to comedy films. “Don’t have words to describe what I’m feeling right now…. A mentor of sorts, someone who introduced me to comedy with #KyakoolHainHum is no more! Sangeeth ji, I had the honour of working with you again recently but it’ll take me a long time to get over this sad news! RIP sir, you will be missed! #SangeethSivan #gem,” he penned down.

Besides this, Zoom also got to know that the Yodha director’s last journey is scheduled to commence at 4:30 PM from his residence at Meridian, approximately one hour later. He will be cremated tomorrow at 5 PM at the Oshiwara Shamshan Bhoomi.

Sangeeth Sivan’s work front

For the unversed, the filmmaker is the eldest son of photographer and cinematographer Sivan, and brother of Santosh Sivan and Sanjeev Sivan. He ventured into filmmaking with his directorial debut Vyooham, featuring Raghuvaran and Sukumaran in 1990.

He later collaborated with Mohanlal in directing three blockbuster hits: Yodha, Gandharvam, and Nirnayam. Additionally, he also directed Bollywood films like Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Apna Sapna Money Money, and others.
