New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has sought a report from the Police Commissioner following after more than 80 schools in Delhi-NCR received bomb threats on Wednesday morning, triggering panic among students, staff and parents. Taking to his X handle, the LG said that “culprits won’t be spared” while directing the commissioner to ensure there is no lapse in doing so. “Spoke to the Police Commissioner and sought a detailed report into the bomb threats at schools in Delhi-NCR. Directed Delhi Police to carry out a thorough search in school premises, identify the culprits & ensure there are no lapses,” said Saxena on X.
Some of the targeted schools include the Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar, Delhi Public School in Dwarka, Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Delhi Public School at Vasant Kunj, and the Amity School in Saket and the Delhi Public School (DPS) in Noida Sector 30. Meanwhile, Saxena said the police have traced the origin of the hoax bomb emails sent to nearly 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). He had gone to DAV School in north Delhi’s Model Town after the schools received the bomb threat.
“The Delhi Police have traced the origin of the emails. I am assuring citizens of Delhi that the police are alert, getting leads, and will take strict action,” Saxena told reporters.
Earlier, Delhi Education Minister Atishi said that so far nothing has been found in any of the schools. “Some schools have received bomb threats today morning. Students have been evacuated and those premises are being searched by Delhi Police. So far nothing has been found in any of the schools,” the minister said on X.

“We are in constant touch with the police and the schools. Would request parents and citizens not to panic. School authorities will be in touch with parents wherever needed,” Atishi tweeted.
AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj calls it ‘strange coincidence’
While reacting to the bomb threats sent to more than 80 schools in Delhi-NCR, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said today’s incident came after “BJP spokespersons were repeatedly scaring people about serial bomb blasts”. “And today false rumours of bombs being present in schools across Delhi have been spread,” he said and asked Delhi Police and Delhi Lt Governor to take note of the “strange coincidence”.
