The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that continued heat wave conditions are anticipated over East India, with South Peninsular India also facing similar conditions over the next five days. On the contrary, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are expected in isolated areas of Northeast India today.

A widespread to light to moderate rainfall/snowfall, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph), is likely over Arunachal Pradesh. Light to moderate rainfall/snowfall at isolated places is expected over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
A trough wind discontinuity extending from Madhya Maharashtra to Kerala across Karnataka in lower tropospheric levels are influencing weather conditions. Isolated light rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-50 kmph), is expected over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada from the 24th to the 25th of April. Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning, is forecasted over Kerala & Mahe from the 24th to the 27th. Interior Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu will deal with the same weather situation today

There is no significant change in maximum temperatures expected over Northwest and East India during the next 24 hours, with a gradual rise of 2-4°C after that. Central India, however, may experience an upsurge of 4-6°C in maximum temperatures over the next 24 hours, with no significant change thereafter.
