1. Visit a centre with required documents:

  • Take the gazette notification for the name change to the nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre.
  • Bring any supporting document that shows your old name with a photograph, such as a Divorce Decree, Adoption Certificate, or Marriage Certificate.

2. Contact UIDAI for exception processing:

  • If your request for a name update is rejected because you’ve exceeded the limit, call 1947 or email [email protected] to request exception processing through a regional office.
  • Provide your enrolment ID (EID).

3. Attach supporting documents:
