One of the most significant Indian festivals, Ram Navami, is celebrated every year to mark the birth of Lord Ram, the seventh avatar of Vishnu in human form. It falls on the Shukla Paksha Navami, thus observed on the ninth day of the Chaitra month, also marking the conclusion of the Chaitra Navratri festival. According to the Hindu calendar, Chaitra Navratri is celebrated in March or April.
This year, Ram Navami falls on April 17. According to Drik Panchang, Lord Ram was born during the Madhyanha period (midday), which is thus considered the most auspicious time to perform Ram Navami puja rituals.
