IndiGo, one of India’s leading airlines, is gearing up to launch a daily direct flight between Abu Dhabi and Chandigarh, providing a convenient link between the two cities.
Starting May 15, travelers can bid farewell to layovers and enjoy seamless connectivity to the vibrant capital of the United Arab Emirates right from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport.

The inaugural flight will take off from Abu Dhabi at 10.15 pm on May 15, reaching Chandigarh at 3.30 am IST the next day. For the return journey, the first flight from Chandigarh will depart at 2.45 am IST on May 16, touching down in Abu Dhabi at 5.15 am local time after a smooth four-hour journey, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Excitingly, the return fare for this convenient flight clocks in around Rs 66,000, making it an attractive option for both business and leisure travelers.

Vinay Malhotra, head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed his delight, stating, “We are pleased to announce direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Chandigarh. This new route will offer customers increased options to travel between the UAE and north India.”
Rakesh Ranjan Sahay, the CEO of the airport, shared plans for the flight’s commencement, affirming, “Bookings for this sector have commenced. We will also be holding a meeting with customs and immigration, as their support is critical for starting this flight.”

Besides enhancing international connectivity, the improved accessibility is expected to attract more tourists from Abu Dhabi and neighboring areas to Chandigarh and Punjab, thereby boosting the tourism industry in the region.
Additionally, the airport has expanded its domestic connectivity with the addition of two new destinations, Dharamshala and Jammu, as part of the summer schedule introduced on April 1. Alliance Air and IndiGo are facilitating these connections, further enriching the travel options for passengers.
The Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport already serves several major domestic routes, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Leh, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chennai, Patna, Pune, and Srinagar.
With the summer schedule in effect since March 31, the airport has seen a notable increase in flights, rising from 74 in the winter schedule to a total of 94 flights in summer, encompassing both arrivals and departures.
