There will be a bank holiday in several states of the country on April 17th, Wednesday for the festival of Shri Ram Navami However, online transactions, ATMs, UPI, and Net banking will continue to operate.
Bank to remain closed in these states on Ram Navami
According to the official bank holiday list of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), public and private sector banks will be closed in several states on April 17th for the festival of Shri Ram Navami. While this festival is celebrated in every state, bank holiday will be only in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Himachal Pradesh. Besides, banks will be closed on Sundays and the fourth Saturday in April.

Despite being a holiday on April 17, online banking, and UPI transactions will be operational that day. Additionally, ATMs of several banks will remain operational.
When Ram Navami to be celebrated
The festival of Ram Navami is observed on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. According to the Hindu calendar, this year the Navami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month commences from 1:23 pm on Tuesday, April 16, and will conclude at 3:15 pm on April 17.

Hence, Ram Navami will be celebrated on April 17, 2024, as per Udaya Tithi. According to Valmiki Ramayana, Lord Shri Ram was born on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month.
