Now, WhatsApp is further enhancing the privacy of chat lock by introducing secret codes . Initially available to beta testers, this feature is now being gradually introduced to all users.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently unveiled the latest WhatsApp feature, which is now in the process of rolling out. Expected to reach all users in the coming months, this feature empowers you to establish a distinct password for your locked chats. Unlike your phone unlock code, this passcode adds an extra level of privacy to safeguard your locked conversations.
After entering the secret code, you have the option to configure your locked chats to solely display upon inputting the secret code. This ensures that your locked chats folder remains concealed from your main chat list. Nevertheless, you retain the flexibility to decide whether the locked chats folder should be visible within your chat list.

To utilize WhatsApp secret codes:
1. First you’ll need to choose the specific chats that you wish to secure on WhatsApp.
2. Once completed, simply pull down your WhatsApp chat list to locate the locked chats folder positioned at the top.
3. Tap on the three-dot button located at the top for access to chat lock settings.
4. Here, you’ll find the ‘create secret code’ option within the chat lock settings.
5. Generate your secret code by using a word or emoji of your choice.
The secret code grants you access to your locked chats and allows you to conceal the locked chats folder. Additionally, you can employ the secret code to swiftly locate the hidden folder. WhatsApp has streamlined the process of locking chats; now, simply long-press on a chat to secure it, eliminating the need to delve into the chat’s settings.
