Hyderabad Metro on Monday announced a 10 per cent fare hike and the discontinuation of the popular Rs 59 holiday card, which offered an additional 10 per cent discount during peak travel hours. However, due to the request of the commuters, the L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail declared to relaunch the offers including Super Saver Metro Holiday Card, Super Off Peak Hour and Metro Student Pass with effect from April 9, 2024.
Hyderabad Metro announced the relaunch on the occasion of Ugadi, a day after the operator cancelled the cards. These offers, including the holiday card which earlier provided commuters with a 10 per cent discount on travel during peak hours, would be available for the next six months.
The Rs 59 holiday card, which was applicable for journeys between 6 AM and 8 AM and 8 PM and midnight, was particularly favoured by commuters for the financial relief it provided. However, the fare hike has left many daily metro users disconcerted and disappointed, especially as they had hoped for reduced fares with the onset of summer.

L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail has also introduced an innovative concept called ”Office Bubbles” at Hitech City, Durgam Cheruvu and Madhapur Metro stations, which provide secure and remote co-working spaces designed to meet the demand for flexible work environments.
