The company will likely introduce a range of hardware and software at the event, including iOS 18. The company will likely release a beta preview of the upcoming iPhone OS for developers at the event.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, a reliable name for Apple-related updates, has already reported that many Apple engineers believe iOS 18 to be the “biggest” update in iPhone’s history. The update will likely include a host of AI features, revamped Siri and more. Here is a detailed look at the expectations from iOS 18.
iOS 18: Features and AI (Expectations)
The company has already confirmed iPhones will soon support Rich Communications Services (RCS) texting standards this year. This commitment could materialise with the upcoming major update. MacRumors hint the support could arrive with the iOS 18.1 update. The company may introduce generative AI features across its apps, such as Siri voice assistant, Apple Music, Messages, Keynote and more.
Apple is reportedly in talks with third-party service providers such as Google, OpenAI, Baidu and more for AI services. Further, Gurman recently tipped that iOS 18 may offer a “more customisable” Home Screen with blank spaces. As for Apple Maps, the company may bring a custom routes feature to allow users to opt for different roads due to factors such as familiarity or scenic ambience.
