Reason for salary hike

The government had already approved a 4 percent hike in the dearness allowance or DA of central employees. With this, the allowance of employees has now increased from 46 percent to 50 percent. This has come into effect from last January, so central government employees will also get arrears for two months – January and February.

HRA benefits

As the allowance of Central Government employees has reached 50%, the House Rent Allowance i.e. HRA has also increased. Depending on the category of the city, central employees will get up to 30 percent HRA.

Due to 50 percent DA, there has been an increase in the special allowance for childcare, child education allowance, hostel subsidy, travel allowance on transfer, dress allowance, gratuity ceiling, and mileage allowance of central employees. However, all these allowances are available on the claim.
