RCB sent the cricket fraternity into a frenzy as they were crowned the new WPL champions. They achieved the remarkable feat by beating Delhi by eight wickets. After losing out on a playoff spot in the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2023, Bengaluru beat defending champions Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator, before inflicting a second consecutive WPL final loss on DC.
Former RCB Men’ skipper Virat Kohli congratulated the winning team, calling them ‘Superwomen’ on Instagram. He also facetimed captain Smriti Mandhana and spoke to her following the victory.
