With the latest version of the YouTube TV app, the company is delivering a “lean back” experience that enables a rich and distraction-free TV content experience.
The updated YouTube app now reduces the video playback window, allowing users to watch the video while accessing additional features like descriptions, comments, and also browsing similar products featured in the video. Additionally, the YouTube TV app will offer additional details like live scores for sports whenever available. It also allows users to watch the video and read through the comments simultaneously. In the current version of YouTube, opening comments cover a part of the video, compromising the overall content consumption experience.
Improved UI on the YouTube TV app
The update also simplifies access to various controls like play, pause, rewind, and fast forward with an improved UI. These features have been introduced based on user feedback to prioritise attention to the video, prioritise simplicity, and deliver a more interactive user experience.
Accessing comments on the YouTube TV app is now much easier. However, users still cannot add a new comment, which can only be done from a smartphone or computer.
