New Delhi: The new academic session for schools usually begins in mid-March or early April and as it is the same time, the annual calendar for Delhi Schools has been released by the Directorate of Education (DoE), the Government of Delhi. The Delhi Annual School Calendar 2024 includes details about Delhi School Admissions from nursery to Class 12 and also highlights the list of holidays. Delhi Annual School Calendar 2024 Announced By DoE
As mentioned earlier, the Delhi Annual School Calendar 2024 has been announced by the Directorate of Education (DoE), Government of Delhi. The academic calendar for 2024-25 has instructions for government and government-aided schools of the national capital; it highlights that the next academic session is set to begin from April 1, 2025.
The calendar was prepared on Feb 1 and all deputy directors of education and MCS (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) were involved in the same. As said last year, it is mandatory for all schools to ensure 220 working days in one academic year.
Delhi Annual School Calendar 2024: List Of School Holidays
Speaking of school holidays as per the annual calendar, the summer vacations are expected to begin on May 11 and will go on till June 30, 2024 but June 28 to 30 will be working days for teachers. There will be an autumn break from October 9 to 11, 2024 and the winter break will be from January 1 to January 15, 2025.
The gazetted holidays for all school students and teachers include Republic Day, Holi, Good Friday, Id-ulFtr, Ram Navami, Mahavir Jayanti, Buddha Purnima, Id-ul-Zuha, Muharram, Independence Day, Janmashthami, Milad-Un-Nabi, Gandhi Jayanti, Dussehra, Maharshi Valmiki’s birthday, Diwali, Guru Nanak’s birthday and Christmas.

Delhi Nursery Schools Admission 2024
As per the Delhi Annual Schools Calendar 2024, the admission process for classes nursery, KG and Class 1 will begin on March 21 and the results and waiting lists will be declared on March 22, 2024. The admission for students on the waiting list will take place from April 2 to April 6, 2024.
For classes 6 to 9, online admissions will be conducted in a total of three phases – first from April 1-8 (till 5 PM), second from May 1-20 (till 5 PM) and third from July 1-20 (till 5 PM). The submission and verification of documents will also take place in three phases – from April 23-30, June 11-25 and August 2-9.
The students seeking admission in classes 10, 11 and 12 must note that admission forms will be released on April 18 and the last date for form filling is April 29. Admit cards will be declared on May 6, the Common Admission Test (CAT) will take place on May 9 (10 AM-12 PM) and the result will be declared on May 14.
