Elon Musk, one of the richest men in the world, probably does not like people who are into philanthropy. He recently made a comment about the ex-wife of former Amazon boss, Jeff Bezos that got people talking.

He made a joke about rich ex-wives who don’t like their former husbands, hinting at MacKenzie Scott’s charity work. She’s been giving a lot of money to groups helping with issues like race and gender. However, Musk later deleted the tweet after it got a lot of negative reaction.
Musk has a history of not liking efforts to make things fairer for everyone. He’s called these efforts racist before. This latest comment about Scott is just another example of him not liking what he sees as the wrong things being supported by big donations. “Super rich ex-wives who hate their former spouse” should filed be listed among “Reasons that Western Civilization died,” he wrote and later deleted.
The tension between Musk and Scott isn’t new. Musk even got involved in politics because he felt Scott’s donations were hurting his companies. This shows how money, power, and politics can get tangled up together. “It’s safe to say that MacKenzie [ahem] Scott is not exactly a big fan of her ex-husband. Unfortunately, a lot of others are getting caught in the crossfire,” he had previously tweeted.

Scott does things differently when it comes to giving away her money. She doesn’t attach any strings to her donations, meaning the groups she gives to can use the money however they want. This way of doing things has earned her praise from those who get her money.
On the other hand, Jeff Bezos, Scott’s ex-husband and the founder of Amazon, has a different idea about giving away money. He talks about planning and working together to make sure the money does the most good.
Even though Musk’s recent tweet might make people forget, he does give money away too. He started the Musk Foundation with his brother, Kimbal. They support things like clean energy, exploring space, and artificial intelligence.
Even though Musk and Scott have different ways of doing things, they both have big roles in deciding how money gets used for good.

Musk’s tweet reminds us that personal feelings, power, and how rich people give away their money are all important things to think about. It’s not just about giving money away but also about who gives it and why.
