“My mother is from Jamnagar and for the last 30 years, we have been making our village proud in the entire world” — This is how Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani welcomed locals as the pre-wedding customs of his youngest son and industrialist Anant Ambani and his fiancée Radhika Merchant started with Anna Seva on Wednesday.
At Jogwad village near the Reliance Township in Gujarat’s Jamnagar, Mukesh Ambani, Anant Ambani and other members of the Ambani family, as well as Radhika Merchant, served traditional Gujarati food to villagers.
As he was welcomed by the locals, Ambani said: “We have begun Anant and Radhika’s wedding rituals from Jamnagar itself. My mother is also from Jamnagar and since the last 30 years, we’ve been making our village proud in the whole world. Thanks to all of you for your welcome. Have a happy feast.”
Radhika’s maternal grandmother and parents Viren and Shaila Merchant also took part in the Anna Seva. Food will be served to about 51,000 local residents and this practice will continue for the next few days.
After the meal, the attendees enjoyed traditional folk music where famous Gujarati singer Kirtidan Gadhvi stole the show with his performance.

All roads lead to Gujarat’s Jamnagar for the Ambani family and their friends as Anant and Radhika are set to ring in their pre-wedding festivities in the city in the presence of the who’s who from the world of business, technology and entertainment from March 1-3.
Music, dance, carnival fun, visual artistry, and a special surprise performance — the three-day pre-wedding festivities promise to include all the endearing aspects of a joyous Indian family.
Among those expected at the event are Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Morgan Stanley CEO Ted Pick, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Disney CEO Bob Iger, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, Adnoc CEO Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, and EL Rothschild chair Lynn Forester de Rothschild.
