The company has reportedly started testing a new AI feature with its support staff that can help with answering questions from the customers.

New reports coming this week suggest Apple is training the AI tool called ‘Ask’ from its internal database to make it equipped to answer complex and unknown issues that Apple customers might have. It seems Ask is an AI chatbot like the ChatGPT but serves only the Apple users.

The internal testing with the support staff is probably Apple’s way to test its ability and see if the chatbot is growing enough to handle these complaints without asking the customer to connect with a human executive.

Apple is getting Ask tested with a small group of its support staff or advisors for now, and gradually it will open the service to more from its staff team. As of now, the ChatGPT-like AI tool is being fed with copied material, as it crawls through Apple’s internal database to give the answers. These advisors can rate the answers as helpful or unhelpful and have the option to ask up to 5 questions as a follow-up to the topic.

The company is using internal data, which is likely to assure customers about its credibility and getting factual responses from the AI chatbot. AI is going to be a focus for Apple in 2024 and the next edition of the WWDC 2024 this year is likely to confirm those rumours.

Siri is expected to get a big AI boost, while Apple also might have a new AI chatbot called Apple GPT as per reports.
