PPO number is a unique 12-digit number designated to every pensioner under the EPF. This unique 12-digit number acts as a reference number for transactions and communications associated with the Employee Pension Scheme, or EPS.
The 12-digit number comprises the code of the PPO issuing authority and the sequence number. Why is PPO number important?
A PPO number is required to transfer money to different accounts. A PPO number is also required to track pensions online, i.e. to know the online pension status.

How to find PPO number
Step 1: Visit the official website of EPFO - www.epfindia.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on ‘Pensioners’ Portal’ in Online Services.
Step 3: Now Know Your Pension Status option will appear on the left side. Click on this option.
Step 4: After this, you will see ‘know your PPO No.’ on the left side of the dashboard.
Step 5: After clicking on this, you will have to enter the bank account or PF number linked to your EPF and submit it.
Step 6: After submission, your PPO number will appear in front of you.
