Kiara Advani to star in Ranveer Singh-headlined Don 3? New report claims Farhan Akhtar’s ‘special announce’ is about her addition to the film.
Farhan Akhtar had revealed he was going to make a big announcement today, February 20, in connection with Don 3. The filmmaker is reviving the franchise with Ranveer Singh in the lead. Although much details about Don 3 have not been revealed, Farhan had teased on Monday that he has a ‘special announcement’ to make today. While fans are waiting to see what the announcement is about, a new report has claimed that Farhan is all set to announce Kiara Advani’s addition to the film.

A source allegedly told Bollywood Hungama that she has been cast in a pivotal role in Don 3 and Farhan is all set to make the announcement. “Director Farhan Akhtar felt that Kiara fits the bill perfectly. Moreover, she has never been paired with lead actor Ranveer Singh before. Kiara, too, is excited to be a part of an exciting action franchise. She is looking forward to playing the stylish part and also collaborating with Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh,” the insider said.
“Until now, Kiara has proved her worth in romantic, intense and comic roles. With Don 3 and War 2, she’ll make a mark in the action genre and thus, emerge as an all rounder actress,” the source added. It is to see if the news is indeed true.
Farhan shocked everyone last year after he dropped a teaser of Don 3 confirming that Ranveer Singh is replacing Shah Rukh Khan as the new Don. The teaser opened in an apartment against a breathtaking skyline of a city, with Ranveer Singh’s voiceover going, “Sher jo so raha hain woh jagega kab, puchte hai yeh sab. Unse keh do phir jaag utha hoon main, aur phir samne jald aane ko…”

Later in an interview with BBC Asian Network, Farhan broke his silence on the backlash he received for replacing SRK in Don 3. “I’m just really looking forward to get it going. I mean Ranveer is amazing. He’s great for the part. He’s also as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous, about the thing you’re filling some big shoes before you. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh did it and everyone was like ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?.’ That whole thing happened then,” he said.
