The 16th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi) scheme is expected to be released between February and March 2024. To avail the benefits of the scheme, beneficiaries will have to complete their e-KYC on the portal. Otherwise, they may miss out on financial assistance.
The 15th installment of the scheme was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 15, 2023. He had also released more than Rs 18,000 crore to more than 8 crore farmers under the scheme during his visit to Jharkhand.

What Is PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme
The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme is a central scheme that provides Rs 6,000 per year to all landholding farmers’ families in the country. The amount is given in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 every four months. The scheme aims to support the farmers’ financial needs for agriculture and allied activities as well as household needs. The Government of India bears the entire financial liability for the scheme.
To register for the scheme, farmers need to visit the official website of PM Kisan and follow the steps given there. They also need to submit their Aadhaar card details, bank account details, and land details. To check their name in the beneficiary list, they can select their state, district, sub-district, block and village from the website.

Steps To Register For PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi
- Visit the official website of the scheme pmkisan.gov.in
- Choose the Farmers Corner option
- Select the ‘New Farmer Registration’ option
- Pick either Rural Farmer Registration or Urban Farmer Registration
- Type in your Aadhaar number, mobile number, state and click on ‘Get OTP’.
- Enter the OTP and continue with the registration
- Fill in more details as per your Aadhaar card such as state, district, bank account and personal information.
- Click on ‘Submit for Aadhaar Authentication’
- Finally, after your Aadhaar authentication is done, enter your land details, upload your supporting documents and click on Save
To complete the e-KYC, farmers can either use the OTP-based e-KYC available on the PM Kisan portal or contact their nearest CSC centres for biometric-based e-KYC. The e-KYC is mandatory for PM Kisan registered farmers.

How To Update KYC Online:
- Visit the PM-Kisan official website.
- Select the eKYC option on the right side of the webpage.
- Type in your Aadhar card number and the captcha code, and click on search.
- Enter the mobile number that is associated with your Aadhar card.
- Click on ‘Get OTP’ and type in the OTP that you receive in the given field.
