New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing the gathering during BJP National Convention event in Delhi on Sunday, accused the ‘INDI alliance’ and the Congress party of undermining the spirit of democracy in India. He said that the opposition parties have tainted the democracy with corruption, nepotism, appeasement and casteism. Shah hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts in eliminating these social evils and focusing on development in the country over the past 10 years.
“INDI alliance and Congress party are destroying the spirit of democracy in the country. They coloured the democracy of the country with corruption, nepotism, appeasement and casteism. Such nepotistic parties were engaged in making a democratic arrangement to ensure that public opinion never emerged independently. PM Modi achieved development in 10 years by eliminating corruption, nepotism, appeasement and casteism..,” Shah said.
The Union Home Minister also took a potshot at the Congress party by stating that her aim is to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister on the contrary, PM Modi’s aims at self-reliant India.
“What is their (INDIA alliance) objective in politics? PM Modi aims at self-reliant India. Sonia Gandhi’s aim is to make Rahul Gandhi the PM , Pawar Saheb’s aim is to make his daughter the CM, Mamata Banerjee’s aim is to make her nephew the CM, Stalin’s aim is to make his son the CM, Lalu Yadav’s aim is to make his son the CM, Uddhav Thackeray’s aim is to make his son the CM and Mulayam Singh Yadav ensured that his son becomes the CM. Those who aim to grab power for their family, will they ever think of the welfare of the poor?..,” he said.
Talking about foreign policy, he stated that PM Modi made nation’s security top priority while maintaining good relationships with other countries by giving slogan of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’
“In the realm of foreign policies, there was a misconception that if you want to make friends with the world, then you must compromise national security. Many leaders struggled with deciding which priority to uphold. Without any hesitation, Modi ji decided that nothing is above the security of India. And, after making national security our priority, he strived to make India a ‘Vishwamitra’ and instill in everyone the feeling of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, making everyone feel that the world is one big family..,” Amit Shah said.
