The platform now offers Vision Pro users an immersive way to view short-form videos on the new device, providing a spatial computing experience optimised for the headset’s capabilities.

The addition of TikTok is a major coup for Apple, given the app’s immense popularity among Gen Z users. The app’s spatial computing experience could highlight the Vision Pro’s capabilities for consuming short-form video.

Initially, there were concerns about limited native app experiences for the Vision Pro upon launch. Early January reports suggested only around 150 available apps. However, this number quickly grew to 600 by early February.

Currently, app engagement remains relatively low. Many developers report download figures in the mere hundreds. However, as more well-known apps become available, engagement will likely improve.

Native app support has been a struggle, with major players like YouTube, Spotify and Netflix initially declining Vision Pro app development. In fact, lack of proper app support was one of the most commonly cited reasons for returning the headset – aside from the weight and discomfort, of course.
