How to Check IRCTC Refund Status On Cancellation Of Ticket

New Delhi: Passengers of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) are entitled to a full refund in case you have to cancel the ticket that you booked with IRCTC. Those wishing to cancel tickets must submit a Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR) online via the IRCTC portal. Refunds will be issued to the bank account from which payment was made, typically within 5 days. Even individuals who purchased tickets from the counter must submit a TDR online, after which they can collect their refunds from the reservation counter. Notably, no refunds are provided for Tatkal tickets, and lost or misplaced tickets are not eligible for refunds.

Railway tickets are cancellable through ticket counters, the IRCTC website, and the railway enquiry number 139. Upon cancelling tickets online, the eligible refund amount is credited to the passenger’s bank account within five days. Here’s How To Check Refund Status:

Step 1: Go to refunds.indianrail.gov.in

Step 2: Then on the right-hand upper side, click on ‘Check refund status’.

Step 3: Now enter your PNR number and date of journey.

Step 4: Finally, click on ‘Submit’ to know the status.

Note: Once you enter your PNR, you will receive a message stating the status. The same may be reflected in your account within 3-4 working days. If not, Please contact your bank/agent with the given Ref. No.

How To Get a Refund On Cancellation Of IRCTC Ticket:

Step 1: Input the PNR number and train number along with the Captcha.

Step 2: Select the checkbox containing the rules and procedures.

Step 3: Upon receiving the OTP on the registered mobile number, enter it and tap the Submit button.

Step 4: View the train PNR information displayed.

Step 5: To initiate ticket cancellation, click on the Cancel Ticket option for verification of details.

Step 6: The refunded amount will be presented on the screen.

Step 7: An SMS containing PNR and refund particulars will be dispatched.
